Insurance on X5

I just got the paperwork from State Farm on my X5. My policy pricing went down quite a bit from what I was paying for the E92. I guess that's a good thing. I thought it would be higher !

When I switched my 2010 750i for the 2011 X5 on our AAA Insurance Policy....the Premium went down over $800 a year!! I was so happy!

Ours went down about $400 for the entire year.

Yep, ours barely costs more than the Honda Pilot it replaced.

Really, I also have State Farm and went from e92 (2007) to 2011 x5 and the price went up for the same coverage - not a lot maybe $15 per month. Can you let me know the name of your agent? Thanks.

Engine matters quite a lot with allstate. 3.5 is much cheaper than 5.0

I'm expecting my 3.5d in a couple of weeks, but I thought I'd check on the insurance costs because of this thread. Yup - same as most of you, it'll be about $80/year lower than for my current '06 E90 330i. Interesting. Would love to see the actuarial tables. FWIW Ameriprise covers me.

Aqua Bliss - suggest you call around, you may not be getting the best/lowest cost coverage for your case with your current agent and carrier.

Cheers,

JB

It surprised me because I figured the X was twice the value as my E92

A lot more than vehicle value goes into figuring insurance rates. It's a black art. My X5 costs about the same as my 1999 ML320 did.

FWIW, I recall reading an article about 'highest insurance cost SUVs'. ML350 (new model of course) led the pack. X5 wasn't even in the top 10 so I didn't bookmark it.

Yep I have Allstate as well--my agent said the same thing.
