Wheel Paint???

I have a Silver X5 (yes, the superior color), and thought it would look cool to smoke the wheels. I'm a cheap skate (with the exception of buying the car in the first place). Is there a wheel paint out there that's decent that I can do myself? It's probably ghetto of me to even ask in a Bimmer forum. Anodizing and powder coating would be superior, but that involves taking the car in and all that crap. Any recommendations?

I'm not sure what you mean by smoking your wheels but people paint wheels all the time. I think you know the downside, but whatever floats your boat.....

Prep, prep, prep and add a clear coat to protect the paint.

lots of work for DIY... beside your ride is not a civic, shouldn't treat like one. do it professional way! otherwise don't do it!

Doesn't need powder coating but I would suggest that you have a pro do it. It needs the clear coat.

When I had it done, my pro "guaranteed" that it was better than BMW's finish. (I know that the guarantee means nothing :) )
