Picking Up 2011 X5 35i Sport...suggestions?

I'm picking up my new 2011 X5 35i sport this Sunday. My dealer is an hour away so is there anything you guys can suggest I look out for at delivery? I hope everything goes smoothly so I don't have to drive back on Super Bowl Sunday!

Congrats!

Make sure you get
- the tools in the back (under the floor door) - i was missing one
- the diesel filler adaptor
- ipod cable (depends on build date)

Have them throw in the rubber floor mats and cargo liner...

There's the paperwork and then the vehicle...

Make sure all the #'s are tying-out to what you were led to believe..

Have your sales advisor inspect the vehicle thoroughly before you get there and then you do the same.....Fit, fitment, scratches, wheel condition...Exterior/Interior..

Make sure your sales rep has scheduled enough time for delivery..You (at least) want to ensure you've been taken through basic operations of vehicle and electronics..

Make sure you have all the manuals -- and then READ EM!!

Last but not least -- post pix and enjoy! :D

Here is a link, from this Board's front page of general info, listing a near encyclopedic schedule of TTD for new vehicle delivery. Maybe a bit over the top, but some good info, imo.

As noted above, my advice is to take delivery on a good weather day, in daytime, and avoid the 'honey, drop me off at the dlr so I can grab the new car' situ, we have all gone through over the years. That, and try to remain objective and questioning & listening vs being emoted because of that New Car Jones.

Jerry's Checklist

This pick up list, found under how to's in the top menu, seems pretty helpful.

Yes, allow plenty of time for blue tooth pairing, satellite radio setup, etc.
If haven't used iDrive before, get a good overview of navigating around it.

Thanks guys! I don't have a spare tire, will they still give me those in the back? I have read the online manual while waiting for the car for the past 7 weeks and I had a 3 series so hopefully I get the idrive.
Lets hope for some floor mats of any kind! I'm lucky that its going to be a great weekend here in California so I'll see everything. Will post pics when I get it!

I had them throw in the BMW floor mats which retail for $150+. It's absurd to me that with as much as we pay, they don't include them.

When I bought my 335 they just asked which mats I wanted (carpet or rubber). I took the carpet because 1) the carpeted mats are more expensive and 2) if I wanted all weather I could get weather tech. My dealer already told me I could pick whichever I want when I ordered th X5.

That's nice of your dealership. None of them have to provide them. But it is good customer service when they do.
