Oil Change at 4800 kms

I had an earlier than necessary oil change as I think the first oil change should be done way sooner than usual 18000 kms. I checked the oil (using the dipstick) after driving about 175 kms to see if the oil was clean (hoping the dealer didn't screw me over). The oil does not look new. It is sort of blackish. Now I know the diesel oil gets contaminated with soot pretty soon after an oil change but this soon? Also, I know that I should have checked it the same day but it was too cold to do so!

Did the dealer use the proper Diesel Oil? (Castrol SLX) Look at the paperwork, there should be a description of the oil and the part number.

Yes, it gets dirty fast.

It says Castrol Pro 0e5w30
part # 07-51-0-037-195

Is it the correct oil?

Yes.

Just type in the part number here to confirm:

Good to know it is the correct oil. I did notice that the Engine Acoustic Cover has a broken clip. Would the dealer replace it? The part is $167.62! The part # is 11147798374.

Well if the dealer broke it they should replace it...or if it failed on it's own, the warranty should.

See what they say
