Need to Sell my X5 ASAP!
 

I threw out my back and am so racked with medical bills I have to sell my X5! I hate this, but I have to sell it. I bought it in August with 30,000 miles on it, Certified Pre-Owned. Now it has 40,000 miles on it and is in the same condition mechanically and aesthetically. I going to trade it in for something cheap, non-BMW. Where should I go to get the most for my Beemer? Dealer? I would really appreciate people's input on this.

In my experience the BMW dealer gives less in trade. I think it has to do with access to dealer only auctions of clean BMW's. They get them cheap.

I have my 2005 A4 Ultrasport Avant for sale $13999 if that is something you are interested in.

Also post it on the for sale section and on Craigslist.

Ask the dealer what they would give for a trade-in. You'll probably be unpleasantly surprised at how little they'll give you. Use that as a starting point for a private sale.

Carmax

Carmax is your best bet for ok money quick, you can probably get a few thousand more private party, but might take weeks if not months to sell.

totally agree with carmax...maybe you can even buy your next vehicle there! Good luck and hope you back gets better!

FYI I saw a new Autotrader commercial where they are now offering a "sell it now" feature on their site when you are talking to a dealer about used car on their site aand want an offer on yours. Not sure of all the details but if it might be a good option as well as you could get many offers from different dealers instead of one or 2 Carmax offers.
