It is there... The dealer showed me how to do that before I left the lot but I couldn't tell you how to find it again... navigating that software is not intuitive.

Another neat feature is that seat ventilation (if you have that option) works at the same time as heated seat. This allows you to get warm and keep your back dry at the same time!

These are the best seats of any vehicle I've had. I also have that seat massage button that makes it feel even better ( Forgot what that option is called ). I'm so happy everyday that I picked these seats over the other options. :thumbup:

I had this dicussion with some techs at my dealership. My 550 heats up really fast and hot, but then again, bmw has had issues of seat heating elements breaking causing seats and cloths to catch on fire or be scorched. My 11 X5 does not heat up nearly as fast and does not get as hot, why I asked, the response was fairly simple, 1) Demographics. BMW has found that a good deal of women drive X5's and when they do when equiped with CW package, they have a tendency to use the heaters all the time. BMW reduced the heat output for the sake of having it on all the time.

As for the temp or speed of warming up. I thing the colder it is, you will notice the temp getting warmer faster just because it is so cold.

Be careful, you'll restart the long, ongoing, and rather silly "Is the X5 a chick car?" debate! :rofl:

I "think" I notice the heated seats not working at all, unless I am sitting in them.
On average mine get hot enough to turn them down a notch or two in about 10-15 mins.

Sometimes when it's very cold I'll start my car and turn the heated seats on and wait in my house for 10 mins or so, to excape the cold.
When I get in the X after warm up, I notice my heated seats are still ice cold....

So the to summarize this thread. All of our heated seats have a mind of their own....

I have heated front seats but not the cold weather package or heated rear seats. Maybe that's why it's not there.

The seats have an automatic "boost" when first turned-on to bring-up the heat faster:
