Emblem Trouble

Alright, I've searched - for days.

I've removed the front emblem, wheels and replaced my steering wheel roundel on my E70. The rear I'm having trouble with. I've picked up that it's glued on. But how do I get it off? I've heard fishing line?

I've got a new emblem, but it's the 82MM with the two prongs. How to I replace it, and with what?

Thanks for your help!!

What are you replacing the Roundels with and why?

So for removing the emblem, in the past while we lived in Dubai, we used a hair dryer to remove the emblem of my friend's dad's s550 and glued it back on to a S350. Needless to say removing it worked, and glueing it back on worked as well(silicon glue) but we did get busted for selling the S550 and swapping it with the S350...coz' the stupid seats were not perforated! - A passage from Shahisms - the dumb Things you do when you're in college;P

Wait - you sold an S550 but gave them an S350 and the non perforated seats where what gave it away - you would thing the 2 missing cylinders and the extra 150 hp might be noticeable right away also!

Damn, that's a slick trick up your sleeve! Let me put some X6 badges on some beat up X3s. And if I get rich doing it, I owe you a giant big mac.

Back to the OP, I surely hope the reason you are replacing the roundels is NOT to replace the white and blue with other colors, cause all you need to do is to buy a $15 kit of vinyl precut to fit the roundel. I have black & white, looks hot on a sapphire.

Just replacing regular roundels with monochrome black and white. The rest are done.

I've tried to pry it and just ended up scratching the chrome plastic piece it sits in. So a hairdryer? I've read that fishing line is useful, but getting it into this one is not easy. Tried a few times.

I know I can't leave two different color emblems on the vehicle. I'm way too meticulous. Going back isn't a real option since I already changed the steering wheel roundel :yikes:

They had a driver who was bribed, the dad rarely drove it, so we figured we could get away with it. But the whole fiasco was just a wash!
But to the point of this post, hair dryer works perfectly on removing decals.

you have to pull the whole chrome base off as well it has two pins similar to the setup on the hood. Then the actual roundel is glued or taped (do not remember) it was very stiff, however it eventually came off..

Thanks.

I'll try this tomorrow, as soon as I find time.

Maybe I can buy the chrome holder without the emblem instead of prying it off.
