I think their packages run anywhere between $2.7-4k, but I think they also offer 3 years instead of 2. It's just really hard to gauge what is covered - I mean things like adaptive drive, etc. aren't specifically named since it's a general contract for all vehicles.

I had a Warrantydirect extended warranty on a Porsche a few years ago, it was a plan that was closest to bumper-to-bumper. It worked fine, we had a mechanical engine problem that was fixed by the dealer with no hassle, that covered most of what we paid for the extended warranty.
Don't know about Platinum, but the one I had was definitely more coverage than a BMW CPO warranty. Because before buying my '07 X5 CPO (with included CPO warranty), I checked into non-CPO cars from third parties and compared extended warranties.
Frankly I was shocked how much more the Warrantydirect coverage was for an '07 X5 than a '01 Porsche, seemed like more than twice the cost. I think it is because of all the electronics. The Porsche is really for all the mechanical stuff that fails (and boy does it fail); the BMW maybe is more for all the sensors and electronic things that are everywhere (just had a repair of the fuel tank under the original warranty, but the symptom was in the emissions sensors and warnings).
Also Warrantydirect's coverage for a 4.8i was much more expensive than for a 3.0i. I asked them about that, and they said it's statistically related to the amount of repair problems and work on the 4.8 engine. One of the small factors that steered me more towards the 3.0 when buying used.
Sorry I can't answer your specific question about what exactly is covered.
