I noticed that driving the car home from the dealer for the first time (before reading the manual). In seing only one fog light on, I thought I had a bulb out on the other. :banghead:

I personally don't like the feature despite it's usefulness at times. It makes it look like one light is busted. Much like the Audis with their fancy bright white LEDs - when you flip the turn signal on, one side goes completely off and you're left with a small blinking yellow. It frankly looks retarded. I am guessing you can't change that, whereas on the X5, you can take it off the auto mode which will kill the turning fogs.

The reason why the Audi's LED's turn off is because you could barely see the turn signal if they didn't do that due to brightness of the LED's They were required to do that.

Yes I realize. I saw a Q7 the other day which didn't have this happen. The LEDs both stayed on while the turn signal was on - but the LEDs were not as prominent though... I think it was just 1 row of lights instead of wrapping around the headlamp.

Anyway, I think it's a terrible design if they have to resort to flipping one side off and leave a small dinky yellow light. I wish I had a pic of it.

Yea the older one line style does not turn off. The new ones that are on top and the bottom are the ones that turn off
