Getting Conti DWS Installed on my 214's Today
 

I know there has been a few threads about the Continental DWS tires on here. I've had some on order from Discount Tire for a few months and they finally arrived today. Apparently, the fronts (275/40/20) are being produced again as of 2/7, so hopefully the backorder issue will be resolved.

I almost just gave in and got the Michelin Latitude HP because of the backorder issue, but it seems like people prefer this tire and it is almost half the price - hope they were worth the wait.

I'm going from the SportMaxx runflats (which I hated) to the DWS. I'll let everybody know my thoughts once I try them out!

Nice, hope they're good. Planning on getting 215's staggered and dunno what kind of summer tires to get.

Yeah, definitely let us know. The DWS look like a great tire at a very reasonable price, considering. Just not looking for All-seasons. Do they have summer ones?

I'm looking at getting Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport, non-RFTs. Seems to have gotten some real nice reviews and test results.

Anyone experience these?

I've had them on my 214s for over a year (about 19,000 miles on them, DWS). Zero complaints and maybe even a slight uptick in mileage. Quieter and smoother than the Dunlops. You cannot go wrong. (I also have the DW on my other car, they are good too!)

Installed them on my 214s last Friday, so far probably drove about 50 miles on them over the weekend and like them, it's not a night and day difference on the dry pavement (maybe because my Dunlops only had 900 miles on them) but they seem to be a tad quieter and softer over the bumps. I'm sure they are a 1000 times better in the snow. Let's hope there will be none of that this season... had too much snow already....

So here are my thoughts on the DWS after about 100 miles. Much, much quieter than the run-flats were. Ride feels a lot spongier, which is not a huge surprise. With the run-flats, the X5 used to tramline quite a bit. Haven't had that problem yet. It's pouring in Seattle today, and they handled great in the rain. Cornering isn't as good as the Sportmaxx, but still decent. For the price, it seems like a pretty nice tire!

For those on 20" DWS', what PSI are you guys running?
I wouldn't expect it to be the same as factory recommendations on runflats since the sidewalls are now much softer...

Hi! I also have same question about the recommended tire pressure on these tires. I had them installed on my 214 two days ago and feels much quiter and spongier ride. A lot softer than the dunlop rft. The 32 psi front and 35 psi rear factory recommended for rft is too soft.
