Winter Testing in Minneapolis MN

Hey Guys and Gals,

You'll never guess what I saw on the way home today from work in Minneapolis, MN! It was the new Range Rover!! It didn't have any body cover panels, just appliques so it was difficult to make out shapes. But it was right in front of me in Eden Prarie so I got a good look for awhile. It looked identical to this: Range Rover Goes on a Diet - Motor Trend

Does anyone know where BMW does the winter testing for the X5?

I was really considering the Range Rover Sport, but the fuel mileage cannot be that good, and I've heard touch and go stories on their build quality. Not to mention the Range Rover line is getting a drastic overhaul in two years. But it certainly is compelling.

At 6-5 the range rover sport is a worthless car imo. I do like the look of the new model but the reliability would keep me away from it for a long time. Per winter testing, i think most are in Sweden or northern Canada.

We looked at one today. The fit and finish is fantastic, I like the style and the materials used feel top notch. However, it's a no for us because 17 on the highway is HORRIBLE. I cannot believe that, just no way I can justify that. I know the 50i isn't much better at 20, but 20 on the highway is as low as I'm willing to go.

When I first looked at that Motor Trend photo, I thought it was a Ford Explorer. That's not necessarily a bad thing but that's what occurred to me.

Range Rover moving away from box style designs. They have a different owner now. I like the new Jag styles(from same owner).

I saw those on the road in Minnetonka and followed them to a mall parking lot and had a nice chat with one of the powertrain engineers. Looked like a pretty sweet ride from what I saw and heard.

The two door they had was a diesel but no plans to bring any production diesels over to the us unfortunately.
