Attn: X5 Diesel Owners - Urea Replacement
I just got an interesting tip from my mechanic regarding replacement of the Urea supplement for diesels. If your X5d is out of warranty and you find you need to replace it (typically done with each oil change), you may want to check pricing with your local Audi dealer.
In our area (S. CA), BMW prices it at $33 per container, while the local Audi dealer offers the exact same thing...for $11. Maybe the BMW's version is piss collected from wild & endangered animals? :dunno: |
I don't know where you are in SoCal, yet you can go to a truck stop and pick up probably cheaper than Audi. Or stop by a Cummins, Peterbilt, kenworth or Freightliner store.
Where are you located? |
available in a multitude of places- all the same product-even Autozone has it
|
South Orange County here (Not many truck stops in the area)

You will get a message at 1,000 miles till empty. Every time you start the car it will remind you that you have x miles to go. It is a professional nag, no human being could compete with. You will reach a point where the car will not start. Have no fear, it will tell you when it's time.
