Congrats on the GX! It was on my short list after my LX was bought back under the lemon law here in NJ. I really like the interior on the GX and the ride is silky smooth, but the rear door was the deal breaker for me.

Enjoy in good health!

Sorry to hear that - my GX470 was the worst least reliable SUV I every owned, bought it brand new, nothing but issues, reduced power issues that occurred weekly, issues with the drive shaft, issues with the auto leveling suspension etc etc. Least enjoyable boring car to drive I have ever owned. Navigation system was terrible - it was simple, a 2 year old could work it, but that didn't make it any good and the 3rd row seats and side opening rear door were engineered by morons! The only redeeming factor that car could of had would have been to be reliable, at least if it was a reliable appliance I could have lived with the dullness. Only way not to take a bath on it was to get another Lexus - did an 09 RX350, power rear door failed, transmission had odd lurching issues, fit and finish was less than on par for a Lexus (it was one of the ones made in Canada) and the transfer case started leaking by 9k (common problem).

Bought a 2011 X5 last year (have an 08 E93) and both cars have been much more reliable than the 2 Lexus vehicles I have owned, the X5 has yet to have a single issues in 8k and I love driving the X5 so much more - I will never own another Lexus in my life.

Hopefully you have a much better experience than I did - I do have to admit that the dealership was great, always got a new Lexus to drive (BMW is 50/50 new BMW or old Chevy), free food, always treated great when I had an issue. ClubLexus is the new forum for you, it was a great place for info like here - best of luck!

Congrats!! The Lexus is a great SUV. Reliable and comfortable basically sums up Lexus. And yes, I have never seen a customer waiting area as nice as the ones at a Lexus dealership!! The one that I was at had a movie theater, a breakfast area with a cook to bring you food and big comfy chairs.
