2012 X5 Diesel Availability - Any News?
 

The 2012 gas versions are now being built and are up on bmwusa.com. Does anyone have any concrete news on the availability of the 2012 diesel? Our current X5 is up in early August. We are considering the diesel but I do not want a 2011 that late in the model year - especially since the gas versions will have been out as 2012 models for months at that point.

Any updates?

There's no reason to believe that the xDrive35d will change for the North American market in the near future.

Production starts in October. Packages are changing to include more options as standard, increasing the MSRP, but overall should lower the fully optioned price by a few grand. Also, brushed aluminum trim will be an option!:rofl: I (military in Germany) was able to, "pre-order," a 2012 35d, locking in an early production slot. (Authorized by BMW AG, not BMWNA) I will get a VIN at the end of SEPT when they are alloted out.)
