Mine are manual! I have a button next to my rear view mirror controls that opens/closes my mirrors...u can have that tied in with your remote lock?

One of the all-time ignorant posts.

You're not the only one capable of doing the coding and there's nothing wrong if an individual attempts the process on his/her own. For an individual, the majority of your posts seem to be advertising your coding services.

Busted!:explode:

im sorry if it came of that way yes i am not the only 1 that can do it you are right but when its a link that says code your car for free but if you open it it shows there you have to pay 100$ for a cable so get a cable set everything up and it wold have been cheaper to pay someone to do it and not have any problems

if you accualy took the time to research this you would find alot of people having problems, and modules bricked, etc clearly states in that post do it at your own risk for a reason right?

Yea because it takes an absolute genius to change the coding on the key fob even with straight forward directions. I think ill take my chances ordering the cable and possibly having my x5 blow up on me

How much do you charge lex?

mtech8 04-17-2011 11:05 AM

I'd love to have my mirrors autoclosed when the car is locked and re-opened when the car is open (rather than it being a manual process). Mercedes allows this to be configurable in their "COMMAND" system. How come BMW won't allow us to do this in iDrive.

Only if there was a coder here in So.Cali... I'd be up for it.

dmoney98 05-26-2011 09:35 AM

Hello,

I just got the folloowing Coded:

1) Turn off seatbelt chime for passenger
2) Enable DVD in Motion
3) Rolling of windows and sunroof up with the keyfob.
4) Folding and unfolding the mirrors with the keyfob (and Comfort access door handle).
5) Allow one touch operation of the windows while the door is open.
6) Allow remote opening/closing of motorized tailgates on X5 with keyfob and in dash button.
7) Amber corned delete: turn off amber corner light when headlights or parking lights are on.
8) Fog lights stay on with high beams and turn off when bi-xenon flashing.
9) Make the rear fog lights work in tandem with brake lights.
10) Add the digital speedometer to non-M cars (V=## mph) in addition to existing options.
11) Remove the correction on digital speedometer
12) Have the windshield wipers complete the cycle and park when you shut the car off.

Do you mind sharing the details of where and the cost involved?
Thanks

kakalika 05-26-2011 12:28 PM

Yeah, who, where, and how much. :iagree:

dmoney98 05-26-2011 03:09 PM

Got it done yesterday in the Bronx by "onebadmofo". (do a "G" search, you will find him):thumbup::thumbup:

I took the time to learn how to do this myself. My $100 investment in the cable was well worth it to me. And I didn't even blow up my car!! Win-Win.

Please.... could you share how you did this.

finagle69 05-26-2011 04:52 PM

Sure thing.

You have to commit yourself to spending a LOT of time researching, searching forums, trying to use Google Translate for Russian and certainly German translations.

You have to purchase an OBD2 cable. You have to download specific programs and updates for them. You have to pull your hair out at trying to figure out why things aren't working as they should. Once you get it working, it's bliss. The hardest part for me was getting the car to talk to the laptop. Basically the initial handshaking stage was the toughest.

When I first started to learn about it, there was no consolidated place for information. It was incredibly scattered. But now, there is a forum that is devoted to coding knowledge.

bmwcoding (dot) com

I do not work for them, nor am I affiliated with them in any capacity aside from having registered to use their forums.
