We didn't get the rear climate package so we had in tinted today.

35% on front windows, 20% back windows. Huper Optics Tint installed by Tint King in Billerica, MA

Really love it, completely changes the look of the car and looks amazing with Sparkling Bronze.

Sorry for the not so great IPhone pic, I'll take better ones when it is nice outside.

Had my tints and clear bra done there as well...they're great guys to work with

Agreed, they also tinted my husband's 335xi. Fantastic job, couldn't be happier!

Sorry for asking, but about how much did it cost? In Switzerland, we are not allowed to tint the driver and front passenger windows, and so they quoted me $800 for doing the rears. That seems excessive and I just wanted to get a comparison.

Cheers,

For this type of tint and the labor it was $307, it seems very dependent on what area of the country you live in and in this case we had to do all windows since we didn't have privacy glass in the back. $800 is expensive!!

I have the privacy glass, but tinted anyway. The privacy glass does not really reduce UV/heat. I had the same done...35% front, 20% for all other windows including the rear hatch. 3M ceramic tinting. $250.00 and took them about 2 hours.

It's a local place that we have used for 4 years, and they service our up the street, local BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, Maserati, Ferrari and Lamborghini dealerships. Great place.

Your sparkling bronze looks great!! Years ago I had a similar coloured Mercedes E-Class sedan (300D). The colour was desert canyon metallic. I tinted the windows with a light bronze/brown tint. It was actually beautiful. Enjoy your tinting...you will really appreciate it in a few months!!!

800 what euros?

even us dollars it would be crazy for only the two rear windows, 250 for the whole car when i live.

I got quoted for $260 for Huper on an X3 that I was looking at in Charlotte. An extra $200 to do a heat rejection 93% VLT on the windshield.

Its really illegal for front windows in Switzerland? I know BMW does rears on just about anything, but I thought I saw a lot of cars with the front windows tinted when I was living in France (I know laws are different). That sucks!

I REALLY want to do the front windshield for heat reduction! That is one option that I cannot understand why BMW offers for Europeans and not for Americans...it's bloody hot here!!

Does anyone know if the HUD will still function as clear and crisp if the front glass is tinted for heat reduction?

Don't know about the HUD working, but for our boats we use a product called V-Kool that is clear but rejects about 85% of the heat and UV....some models we have utilize a lower (interior) helm and we cannot "tint" the front window as it becomes a navigation hazard, so the product is ideal for cars as well.....
