PCD Date Provided - Question on booking travel

All,

Well we were given a PCD date in less time that previously quoted (7-10 days)! The PCD date is June 1st for both X5 purchases and we are really excited. The letter says they will be reaching out to us to confirm the date in a later email and that we should not book travel until 3 weeks before the June 1st date.

What has been everyone’s experience here? Do they really ever push that date out at all? I’d really like to book the tickets ASAP before the prices to GSP go up anymore. As it sits today in cheapest form, we will be flying US Airways with one-stop out of MSP to GSP for around $173 per person after taxes and fees. However, I’m seeing the prices rise steeply on the flights I had preferred on Delta from $173 to $361.

Thanks!

I would book, but that is me. They say that to cover their fannies in case of any issues. It is up to you.

Im actually doing the PCD on 3rd of June for my X5, but Im actually driving my lease return up and returning it to BMW of Greenville. I would go ahead and book them if it were me as well.

You may just want to purchase a refundable ticket. By the time you pay for a change fee if BMW changes your date, Cost will be the same.

I booked on US Airways. They have a $28 insurance option but BMW changing my schedule (or something similar ) wasn't one of the approved reasons for needing to reschedule your flight. I would have had to provide a death certificate or hospital records and other crazy stuff for approved changes.

I booked last night as the prices started creeping up. $220 per person from MSP to GSP ended up not being too bad. Now I just need to figure out the road trip on the way back to Minneapolis. We're debating going down to FL to visit friends or just go through the Smoky Mtns and then onto Nashville. We want to time our Nashville arrival or at least one of the days there to be a Tuesday or Saturday. That way we can see a Grand Ole Opry show. The wife really wants to go to a beach which helps push the decision towards FL first, but that is a ton of driving that plan entails. 2,500 miles

Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, or Charleston would be much closer beach choices, depending on the type of beach you like.
