New 2012 50i Pics
6 Attachment(s)
Here are some shots of the new ride. The details:
Black Sapphire Metallic Cinnamon Brown Nevada Dark Burl Walnut M Sport with 20 inch wheels Adaptive Drive Multicontour Seats Premium Premium Sound Technology BMW Apps Aftermarket items: VentureShield Llumar Formula One Ceramic Tint Loving it. The only significant issue is that Bluetooth must be disabled if you connect your iPhone via the USB connector in order to use BMW Apps (such as Pandora in the image above). If you later want to use Bluetooth, you have to navigate through the menus and reconfigure your phone. This is potentially a problem since all your contacts actually reside on your phone, not in the car. I don't know what would happen if I received a call while listening to Pandora. but I am sure I'll find out soon. |
Sick ride. Congrats

Nice rig. From the elevation in the background of the 1st two pics you must live just west of Austin in the Lake Travis area maybe. Can't tell from the pics--how is the match on that Llumar Ceramic tint on the front windows or did you not get the Cilmate Pack and did aftermarket tint on the windows ?
|
Very good pickup, BGM! The first 2 pictures were taken on Loop 360 west of town, not far from Austin Country Club. I actually live near the University. I did not get the climate pack. Privacy Glass on the rear windows is standard in the 2012, but I added the Llumar tint aftermarket since it just wasn't dark enough for my taste. I darkened all the windows and the moonroof, with the fronts having to be less dark by law.

Yeah I've been down to Austin quite a bit over the years and also have some friends there--I was there in February.

On the BT issue. Are you taking about BT for handsfree or audio streaming ? If former that makes no sense at all.

She looks great...I like the color combo choice too :D

Well done congrats

This evening, I ran through a few scenarios and I think I now understand what is going on. Both incoming and outgoing phone calls operate normally even during USB operation. Audio output, however, can be done either via USB or via Bluetooth but not both. If the phone is connected via USB, then Bluetooth audio is disabled. But I realized that that doesn't matter since I can stream the audio just fine via USB. I did discover a quirk. I was playing an album from the iPod function of my iPhone. The display showed the correct album art, both on the main screen and the split screen (I have it configured so that the split screen shows Entertainment Details). I then stooped the iPod and switched to a different audio streaming source (Last.fm). The audio was correct, but Entertainment Details still showed the album I had been listening to just before on the iPod. I hope that these issues will go away once I get the iPhone Media Snap-In Adapter (currently backordered). I am hoping that transitioning between audio sources will be more seamless. |
Looks great! I used to live in Bee Caves, great to see pictures from Austin...loved that place. Much nicer than MN.

btw, also very jealous you can do pandora |
If you have the BT setup for your telephone, connecting the iphone to the USB port has NO effect on your Address Book abilities. The BT phone part is completely seperate from the BT audio streaming functions. If you have BT steaming for audio, and you connect your phone via the USB port, it shuts off the BT streaming and you have to re enable the BT Audio again.
