Black rims look so Gangsta. Really takes the X5 down in class IMHO.

NICE! looking really good.....gonna make the jump to 22"s and keep the black/black combo you have later this summer as well....as soon as I return from the middle east

and that's why it YOUR opinion... not sure this is the right quote, but close enough... one mans trash is perhaps another mans treasure. Not to say that the black/black combo is trash. I think the 215's in black look great. Very nice ride, indeed...

I just went with ferric grey 215's on black, but I only went with that color because I found a good deal from a good guy on a used set near my house. Prob would have leaned to black as well otherwise.

blue dragon 04-24-2011 09:46 AM

Those look massive compared to my 20s

barbja 04-24-2011 12:22 PM

Do you have to go over speed bumps at like 1mph with 22s? Or just avoid them altogether? Man, there's not much rubber between the road and the rim for a >5klb vehicle!

saius 04-24-2011 02:10 PM

Perfect looking wheels, are those 215's? Congrats man...they look amazing.

mrdrd4.8 04-24-2011 02:13 PM

Looks great! Ill keep a lookout for you im In Van also. I have 22" Vossen Black rims on my X.

nwilliams 04-24-2011 02:41 PM

That looks amazing! Can you tell me more about painting your bumpers? How much did it cost you to have all bumpers and wheel flares painted? Did the body shop recommend against it? Do you know what process they used....sanding all plastics before painting?

By the way...this is just my personal opinion but....you should do the black kidney grills, get the black vinyl tape to do the chrome window trim in black as well, go with some darker tints and consider some spacers to push out the 215's to sit flush with the extended wheel flares.....at that point it'll be completely blacked out! There's another guy on this forum who has that exact setup and it looks crazy!

blue dragon 04-24-2011 10:12 PM

^^ That looks like the pre-LCI Msport kit. Stay tuned and you'll see his posts about rock chips.

rh71 04-25-2011 03:05 PM

hmm how'd you get a 30i with chrome trim? I thought that was only on 48i without sport pkgs.

Or maybe a People's Republic of Canadia thing.

xoutpostking 04-25-2011 03:16 PM

HOT LOOK! But the chrome trims killed it.........

synaptik 04-25-2011 04:44 PM

hey guys, thanks for all the comments

my cars not actually black on black...its carbon black, which is really a deep blue metallic. its much more visible in direct sunlight. if my car was full black i would've gotten silver rims instead

its actually not so bad...i have sport suspension so it was pretty much a safari ride to begin with. i just have to avoid potholes

those rims are sick! ive seen them on cars around the city. i see in your sig that u lowered it...where'd u get the work done? im thinking about it but im not sure if its possible with these wide wheels; dont want to interefere with turning radius and such

its the 2010 msport kit that came with my car. i wouldnt trust anyone with sanding/painting this thing  but no, i havent gotten rock chips so far, and yes i might get some spacers for the back in the summer

Looks good. I hear you on the first legit day of summer. Doesn't look like Vancouver, though, more like Steveston in Richmond. We're in Yaletown, but we ride bikes out to UBC then on to Steveston every week. That block is where we turn around to head home. Small world.

doni01 04-30-2011 10:28 AM

It looks amazing  If you don't mind me asking, what kind of tires are those ?? Thx

icenutz 04-30-2011 11:45 AM

What size are the Vredesteins? 295/30/22 all around?

flying 04-30-2011 12:10 PM
