E70 3.0 sd aftermarket exhaust options for sound?
Hi ... just made the move to an E70 3.0 sd from a 4.2 Supercharged Range Rover Overfinch ... the 12 mpg too much even for me currently.
Accept I wont get the same 'unleash the hounds of god' noise from a diesel as I had from the straight through stainless on the V8 petrol .... but ... what options are there to get better sound ... at least closer to the iconic V8 petrol or TVR sounds? |
i'd be interested too.. I haven't seen too many members change the exhaust on the diesel x5's.. generally its all the guys with the v8's.

Bump .... anyone got any news on this?

I've not seen any aftermarket exhaust system kits for the E70 diesels here statside yet. There are some kits out gasoline engines, and of course some universal parts that could be upgraded. I'm keeping an eye out for sources and will post anything I come up with.
Regards. Crash P.S. As you can see from the pix, I take my hell hounds everywhere with me. Not the same sound, but close... |
Like the description "hell hounds" my black Lab insists on riding on the back seat, he was having none of it it the back even after getting a 4" slab of foam to make it more comfortable. At least leather is fairly easy to clean!!

I have E70 3.0 Diesel as well.... Still searchiing too!

I'll get mine on the rack over the next couple of weeks and see what it would take to design a system. Maybe see if I can get one of my suppliers to give me some mufflers to try out. Getting a good sound might be tough though. We'll see.

Ok.put it on the rack. Cut the muffler off. Drove it..unfortunately no appreciable change in sound. Even wot. We would have to ditch the cat at the very least in order to get any sound
