Joined the X35D club!
 

Flew to Colo Springs and drove 931 miles home with my new Space Grey 2011 X35D this weekend. Great car! Dealer didn't get the window tint done so will be getting that shortly. Otherwise I love the car and love the diesel. I have to say I don't like the run flats on this car. Will look for some 19" tires and non-run flats soon.

A few pics, the space grey is really nice in person. I had wanted Sparkling Bronze but was hard to find with options I wanted...but loving this.

I got avg of 25. Was doing 70 to 80.

I had Space Grey on my "Launch Edition" 2007 E70. It's an awesome colour, and looks great in full sun!!

Even with horrible Los Angeles city traffic...I almost always get 19 mpg in the city, and on the highway at 65-70 mph, I easily get 26-30 mpg. Love this 35d engine. I bet the new 2013 or 2014 40d is gonna be magical!!

It is a big change from the E53. I knew that car so well and I feel slightly intimidated. But overall it's a nice evolution. Freeway cruising is definitely effortless; climbing hills a snap. I love how when you go down a hill that it brakes to keep the same speed - that you can feel that happening.

How much over invoice did you get the vehicle for? I am negotiating right now with the dealership on one and want to see what other people are getting... THANKS!

$1,700. Probably not the best. I did get lower offers but selection of diesels was slightly limited unless I wanted to order which didn't work as I had sold me E53 and needed another car ASAP. I've read others got $500 to $1,000 over invoice.

It's what I would have done with better planning....you have enough dealers to choose from that you should be able to get a better deal and what you want.
