BMW Individual E70

Has anyone done, or considered, a full wood replacement with BMW Individual wood options? Looks like the parts (including steering wheel) can be ordered since the rest of the world has access to BMW Individual on the E70...

I've been quoted about $400 to have all of the wood panel covered in a vinyl based flat carbon fiber overlay. I think that would be the best bet.

Yea, if you wanna go for that fake and ugly look. Complete waste of money, IMO. If you're gonna do something do it once and do it right, otherwise dont do it.

Definitely not an option. Looking for something unique - nothing to 'fix' per se...the original wood looks fine.

No offense intended, but why in the world would someone cover up real wood trim with vinyl?

Apparently you haven't seen vinyl overlay with cars or panels such as this. It's come a long way from what we all thought it was before. The finish, texture, and appearance is second to none. I personally do not care for the wood look and prefer the brush aluminum look in other BMW's. Just a suggestion

I agree with you. If there was an option to replace the wood trimming with the brush aluminum for my e70 (i'm sure there is, I just haven't searched enough) then i would. Most people who get cf parts dont realize most of the time they're getting frp with a carbon overlay.

I've definitely seen it. And it definitely ugly and very "after the fact," nor original looking. Have you thought about removing the trim and having a body shop spray them for you? Depending on the interior color you woul have a bunch of options. Black? Silver...maybe matte silver? Would probably cost you less than $400 to have them painted and would look far better than the self adhesive overlay.
