MK III Nav Screen backlight
 

My MK III nav 16/9 screen backlight recently has stopped working and I cant find anyone who has experienced this. I can see the screen functioning properly otherwise, just seems to be a backlighting issue. I thought this might be a common issue but on no forum have I yet seen has it show up.

If anyone can tell me if this is power related or a fusing problem or indeed the backlight is kaput. If it does need to be replaced, any ideas where I can buy one and is there a schematic available of how to relace the backlight.

I am having the exact same problem. Of course mine went out at 50,001 miles, so it's not covered under the new car warranty, nor under CPO. Hoping it's a simple fix, because BMW suggested replacing the whole system for $3,000.
