X5M Wheels ~ Opinion and Advice

3 Attachment(s)
Looking to upgrade my wheels from the stock 18" rims to the X5M wheels.

I know I will need the spacers for the rear wheels. But, should I buy the X5M wheels and tires? Or get replica wheels...?

He is offering the wheels and tires as a set for $850.00 including TPMS.

The pics are for the wheels I am looking to buy.
Thanks,

dab

Also, my x5 is a 2010 Alpine White...if there is anyone with an Alpine White X5 and these wheels I would love to see some more pics of the combo!

Also thinking about having the wheels powder coated flat black...

I've just done this on my 2008 ... but it's not simple .... if you original which I think is the only safe we to go if you've got passengers you care about in the car ... then the wheels need reboring on the rear as the hubs on the X5 are 74mm all round .... the X5M is 74mm on front but rear is 72.6mm

Worth it in my opinion ....

Looks great! How much did the rebor cost? Looks good on your X5...

$850 for wheels and tires seems like a pretty good deal even if I have to rebor the rears.

It is my wife's daily drive, so I definitely want to stay safe!

brewhahog 06-06-2011 03:18 PM

I think I am going to need to buy the extended arches as well for the rears...

Stephen.Gazard 06-06-2011 03:19 PM

Thanks .... rebore was done free by Mstyle.co.uk who did the conversion .... but the wheels and tyres were £3500!

Brewhahog- The pics that you posted do not appear to be OEM BMW X5M wheels.... at least not 2011/2012 US spec X5M wheels. Check out Gazard's pics...THOSE are OEM X5M wheels. That price is WAY TOO CHEAP to be OEM!

Quoted for truth. Also seems way too cheap to be anything "good" for after market/replica. Then again, I'm not very well-versed in wheels so maybe that's the going rate?

Alpine White X5M with REAL OEM X5M wheels. I don't think the ones that you pictured are even 20"? I included a shot of the real OEM wheel and the ones that you have in your first post.

:iagree:Looks like an 18" wheel and is not the 20" X5M wheel.

brewhahog 06-07-2011 10:24 AM

Ding ding ding....yes, I talked the seller and those are 18" rims that I am not buying!!! Muchas Gracias amigos!

Well, back to searching for some 20" wheels for the x5....

Psalm40 06-07-2011 11:38 AM

Something was a little fishy. The forum comes through again!

brewhahog 06-07-2011 04:31 PM

Yes, the forum came through!!!

Now I found some different wheels to buy...

I am looking at a set of the 20" 214s (Y Spoke) wheels with the bridgestone tires, not including tpms. The seller is asking $1,700 for the set. He indicated the wheels are clean, no scrapes etc and the tires have 8 and 9/ 32 seconds tread and he indicated new tires are at 10/ 32 seconds...

They look pretty good...http://images.craigslist.org/3pa3o63...e6cdeb1f10.jpg

I hate to be the one to tell you but these pictures are not of replica X5M wheels. The design and sizing are way off.
Looks like rep wheels from an X3 or something.

Yes, we have established those are not 20" wheels and are not OEM wheels...

Anyways, after seeing the m wheels on the alpine white I think I'm going a different direction. They look dull, IMO.

HEY! Watch it! I know you aren't crabbin' on my future wheels....

ard 06-07-2011 11:57 PM

Whats with the silver/light 'overspray' looking stripes on the black tire on the 'cheap knock off' pictures?

OP. Do you seriously think you've found factory OE rims, with tires and TPMS for only $850?

He's new cut him some slack...lol
