Incredible difference. It feels like a large sports/GT sedan vs and SUV. I was hooked about 2 minutes into my test drive that day.

Welcome! I have the same color for my 35d LOVE IT! I have yet to see another one on the road here in MA :-)

Thanks folks. Love the new ride. Have had 2 little issues that were fixed quickly under warrantee. Not sure if other's have had the same:
1) Squeakey driver's seat. They pulled the seat and lower seat pad and installed a felt strip, I understand this is the standard fix for what seems to be a widespread issue
2) There's also an emerging issue that many 2012 X5s are coming home with which is a squeak coming from the back of the engine at idle, which persists for a second or two after engine shut down. There's a seal that is either faulty or not being installed correctly at the factory which they replace, takes most of a service day to do it.

Otherwise the car is perfect, getting about 16 mpg in normal driving (I have a mostly local commute) and when I spend more time on the hwy my average MPG is usually over 18...so not great, but not horrendous for a local commuter.
