Is this a good deal?

OK guys help me out here, I just optioned a 2011 X5 35 Diesel with the below listed options.
Final price after eco credit and dealer discounts comes to 56,000 even. MSRP was 62,525.
Good deal, or is there room for more negotiations?

Premium Package

Rear Climate Package

Multi-contour seats

Navigation system

Running boards

BMW Apps
iPod and USB adapter

Satellite radio with 1 year subscription

Space-saver spare

Try to negotiate more.... It's not bad... And there is no such thing as a "good deal".... No matter what, there could always be a better deal... And besides it's a new car... In conclusion... Yes, it's not bad... But remember... It can always be better. :) good luck buddy...

Average total discount on the Diesel is around $6500 so you are right around the ballpark. You might be able to get a little more but they won't be throwing around better discounts until September since the Diesel production for 11s end in October.

I'm also in the market for a new 2011 X5 i35d. Actually may be putting in my order this weekend for sure.

Total savings from MSRP i've calculated for my build is ~$7609 without further haggling. I think you've got a lot of room left to negotiate. At least $1000 plus

Perhaps you can do what i did. Order the consumer report X5 detailed report. From that report you can use their "Build and buy" program that dealers participate with. The lowest quote I received was 2.4% markup over invoice on the car and all options/accessories were charged at invoice price.

Give it a try. The report is $14 and you can get it instantly through email. Guaranteed you'll save hundreds to probably over a thousand from your current offer

*Update* Order put in for New 2011 i35d.

Car Price over invoice $274
Plus $3500 eco-incentive and $1000 BMW Ultimate drive event incentive.

Initially the dealership was asking for $1599 profit over invoice. The $274 over invoice took hours of haggling to reach ! ... All options were charged @ invoice.

My build was:
2011 i35d
Premium pkg
Technology pkg
Rear climate pkg
Premium sound system pkg
Active ventilated seat pkg

Running boards
Comfort access key
Matte roof rails
Space saver tire

Out the door price including tax, tag title (with $3500 eco-credit and $1000 event credit) ... $61,150 !

What was the sticker price?

akim47 07-24-2011 04:41 AM

how do the current discounts compare to what was around last year?

I would echo that there is a bit more room for negotiating. I took delivery of a 2011 X35d which stickered at $65475 for $56133 after eco credit ($3500) and no Ultimate Drive credit. Ordered mid June and delivered end of June.
