Congrats she looks great. Any reason your diesel didn't come with the Titanium Kidney Grills? Get any free goodies during pick up? Mine gives us OEM rubber mats all around, nice gesture. Also make sure to ask your SA about the steering recall. My SA confirmed the production dates and yours might have just narrowly missed it or fallen under.

I have no idea why it didn't come with titanium grills. I didn't even know that it did??? No freebies whatsoever which is a shame...but at the end of the day we got it for a few pennies over invoice PLUS the ECO credit. My SA offered to buy the mats with her employee discount but that's about it.

Regarding steering according to the tech we were six vehicles out of the vin range for the recall so that's good. The build range for the recall is March to May 19th. Our vehicle went into production after that date!

Congrats! 3000 miles on ours and I keep being amazed how great the car is every time I drive it. Enjoy!

CONGRATS!! That is odd. Never seen a 35d with black kidney grills. I wonder what the reason is???

I was told all the Diesels come with Titanium Kidneys regardless of options. If you order the Sports Package which looks like you did because of the fender flares and 20"s you also get the titanium bumper grills.

The BMWUSA site also says the same. However I just took a look at the latest brochure and it happens to say otherwise, weird.

(Hope you got Corona AEs at least)

The black slats have always been (as far I can recall) on all 6 cylinder models no matter what trim and 8 cylinder got the titanium. On my old X5 3.0 when I bought it in '01 I had the Sports Package but had to order from Parts the titanium ones that were on the 4.4.

The E53 is different. The E70 Diesel has been very specific since it came out. If you even Google you will see all the 35d models with Titanium. Every 35d I saw at the dealer and on the street has had the Titanium kidneys. The configurator on BMWUSA has shown it, if you hover over the X5 section you will see it. BMW has made things really confusing. And options and packages changed for LCIs once again and little things also changed for 10/2010+ production.

Hmm that's interesting I guess I never really paid attention to the diesels.
