New 2011 X5 i35d ordered ! ... Almost at invoice!
Hey all,
First off great forum. I got so much useful info before the purchase. :thumbup: 2011 X5 i35d Build Alpine White Black perforated Nevada leather - Premium package - Technology package - Cold weather package - Premium sound package - Rear climate control package - Active ventilated seat package - Convenience access key - Space saver tire - Matte roof rails - Running boards Originally I didn't want to get cold weather package but when the order was submitted the factory said theres a restriction. If i wanted the active ventilated seats i "HAD" to get the cold weather package. :confused: Kinda sucked but paid an extra $305. The total car price w/ all options was only $215 OVER INVOICE cost ! In addition, applied the $3,500 eco-credit PLUS $1000 incentive BMW Ultimate drive event. :D:D:D So that should be $4285 UNDER invoice before tax, tag, title, etc... Yeah it took several trips and hours of negotiating to get the price down though. FYI, initial profit margin asking was $1599 over invoice. I thought about getting the smart phone integration + BMW apps but in the end the iPod USB cord should do almost everything except video play back right? .... And even with video playback you cant watch while vehicle is in motion so ... wasn't worth it to me. Car goes into production this Thursday ! .. Only 1 day after putting order in :wow: Cant wait till it arrives ! |
Congrats that is a great deal!!
|
Congrats HadoukenZR! Looks like you have a great SAV heading your way with all those options. I just ordered a 2012 X5 50 last night so we will be in production at around the same time. I agree with you completely regarding "I CAN'T WAIT TIL IT ARRIVES"!!!! The 4 weeks is going to be torture.
|
Congrats! You will love it.
I haven't heard about a recent "$1000 incentive BMW Ultimate drive event". Did BMW recently have another promotion???:dunno: |

My SA just told me to show up and register. Once you register, you still get the promotion code to apply $1000 off any BMW car purchase. |

4 weeks? Sales guy told me like 2 weeks. lol... I'm hoping he's right hehe |
Is BMW currently running this Event or was that in the past, such as January or February?
|
I just went to the event this Monday 6/27. The events are still going on but you need to find which dealership near you is holding it.
Not all BMW dealerships hold this event from what I understand. |

Do a search, this is an incredibly common issue. Every dealer has a set number of 'slots' per month. Once they sell the slots for June, or July OR AUGUST, they can still TAKE orders but you will not be seeing the car until they have an open slot. SO asking another buyer when their car goes into production is about as useful as using sunspots to predict YOUR order. People ask the wrong question. They should ask "how many slots do you have, and which one is mine". Instead they ask "when will it go to production and are told 'BMW hasn't told us' |

Fortunately, my sales adviser called me and told me mine will be going into production this Thursday. I'll believe it when I see the status update on MyBMW =) |

Even if you don't pay for apps now, the function can be enabled afterwards through coding by a 3rd party. |

The only thing that interested me is the iPhone video playback function but I read you cant use that when the vehicle is in motion so ... again not worth it. |

My theory: I paid $200 over invoice (actually got invoice at another local dealership, but this dealership is closer to my home/work) and I believe they are allocating their slots to people who paid significantly more. I understand why they would do it . . . it makes good financial sense, but not necessarily good business sense because they may lose a customer. Sorry to bring everyone into the nitty details of my purchasing experience, but just wanted to respond to say that I am aware of the slots allocated question and been there and done that, just didn't do it at time of purchase. |
** Update ** Confirmed. MyBMW status shows "IN PRODUCTION" now.
:yikes::yikes::yikes: :D |

I find it hilarious that some people would actually pay good money to access Facebook and Twitter via their car. Seriously? Losers:bustingup:dunno: |

For example, you won't be able to perform a pandora "thumbs up" or create a new station via idrive without Apps. Similarly, you won't be able to choose a internet radio station via idrive. You would need to use the handset for that. Small things ... yes ... but that's the point of Apps ... provide a gateway to the handset through idrive. |
Good color choice. Enjoy!

Sucks, I just got an email from a local dealer re: the ultimate drive event and the fine print says any car on order already will not qualify. |

Yeah... You need the promotion code or have this -$1000 calculated in before you place the order.
*shrug* Depending on your car status maybe cancel the order and re-order another one? lol... I dont know. |

w00t! :wow::thumbup:
1) Order put in 6/28. 2) Production started 6/30 3) 2 weeks later production finished and X is at performance center! Hopefully will be picking up next week at dealership... and hoping it'll be problem-free ! ... Gave the SA a list of requirements lol.. - Do not wash car - Do not detail car - Do not drive car prior to customer arrival |
I haven't been able to check the status of mine online for 2 days......just keep getting an application error message. Anyone else get that?
The good news is that whn I call it sounds like final assembly was completed yesterday (went into production on 7/1) and it is now "being transported to the port of exit". Should be at teh dealer next week. |

I have been getting the same error message as well. I called the 800 number and it said my vehicle is in paint shop. |
