Does it come with the cargo cover?

bren3085 07-06-2011 01:33 AM

Being an Aussie I really like that idea! :)
There was an e39 m5 ute made by Robert Allenby (golfer) I thought that was an awesome project

nom3rcy 07-06-2011 01:49 AM

I love it!

Especially with a diesel and a decent towing capacity

EWWWWW

wilkoturbo 07-06-2011 01:52 AM

Lol :))

I like it. Back wheel needs to be moved back about 6 inches but nice. Just think the M version could be the next "world's fastest pickup".

NOX 3.2 07-06-2011 02:46 AM

Cool photoshop, I would change the rear window to look more aerodynamic and smaller, the rest is good.

SCardamon 07-06-2011 06:04 AM

Ill comment later, right now I am focused on rinsing out what I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

kakalika 07-06-2011 06:19 AM

I like. BMW should build it. I'm sure it would sell.

GoVols! 07-06-2011 08:29 AM

The scary thing is that this truck looks better than pretty much every actual pickup on the road. Some amateur on photoshop just beat GM and Ford designers making millions. Maybe all car companies should do a design contest for new models?

X5X 07-06-2011 09:43 AM

I like it :) you might not like it because your used to your X5, but for a pickup it looks pretty good!

J.Belknap 07-06-2011 09:59 AM

Subaru Baja? Would like to see using more squared off front end (E53), two doors, bigger bed, beefy 31"-32" tires on 18"-19" wheels, more ground clearance. :)

blue dragon 07-06-2011 10:00 AM

I'd rock that if I was aussie :D

jimbopa 07-06-2011 10:31 AM

It'd look good pulling my boat. The tailgate was fudged in the photoshop, the line where the hatch divides would need to disappear.

Weasel 07-06-2011 01:11 PM

Hell, I'd buy one of those over the GT... And I'd honestly expect BMW to cave in and make something to this effect within the next decade or so, especially for the US market. The "premium truck" market currently consists of the Caddy truck thing and the H3 truck thingy... BMW could take a decent portion of the market niche if they give it good towing capacity.

Damn that thing is fugly. All it needs is a hitch with the balls hanging off it.

2010X5d 07-07-2011 09:29 AM

I would go for it.
I have too many rattling noises on my X5d from the trunk area, hope they will be avoided in this pick up truck version.

aimtimes100 07-07-2011 10:26 AM

I was actually reading about a concept pickup from bmw sometime ago.they were gonna call it the M3 pickup.problem with concept cars though is most of them never make it to production

Lawfarm 07-07-2011 12:49 PM

I'd buy it in a heartbeat. The rear axle is where it is to keep the wheelbase the same as the SUV...which would reduce production costs. That thing would be about perfect for my lifestyle.

JCL 07-07-2011 02:05 PM

The virtual wheelbase is significantly longer than the E70. Notice that the rear door has a vertical rear edge ahead of the wheel arch. On the E70, the rear edge of the rear door is close to the rear wheel centreline. Also look at the extended rear overhang.

Pretty easy to do when you are using a stretch command in photoshop though.
