EBC Redstuff Ceramic Brake Pads

Hey everyone,

I have done some searching here and elsewhere on this product and have seen good reviews but wanted to ping everyone here to see what thoughts are out there on this product.

Anyone have any bad expirences? Good?

I have an 07 4.8i Sport and am also having trouble finding the right replacement sizes. Good times.

Thanks in advance for any info!

You just reminded me that I never posted my full install/review of those pads.

I have a 2011 50i so our pads are different. With that being said I'm a little dissapointed with these pads.

In the past I used these without any complaints. The EBC reds in my X now are blowing much more dust than in my previous BMW's. It is less than OEM but only by 40% at best.

The performance is noticable. Pedal feel is better all without that initial exessive bite that some can do without in their X's.

From past experience I do reccomend spraying Permatex disc brake quite on the rear of each pad. It helps eliminate unwanted squeaking from the brakes.

WOW, thanks Trainer!

So brake dust reduction is nice but not a showstopper for me. So you feel this is a better preforming pad than the OEM offering?

Thanks again!

Anyone else have any favorite pads?

I am gonna need some new rotors and pads soon. If anyone can chime in on this, it would be appreciated!

Where did you purchase your parts?

I purchased from board sponsor ECS Tuning. Send them a PM. I got Stoptech rotors from Tirerack as I had tough time finding rotors for 4.8is. You should be able to find everything from ECS.

Akebono pads are supposed to be very good for low dusting. trade off being less initial bite.

if i am reading Trainer's post correctly he is saying the EBCs modulate better than OEM pads. i kind of like that big grab up front. i put Akebonos on the wife's E90. she is fine with them.

That's correct, they don't grab as hard out of the gate but still break great. Overall I like the feel and feedback better from the EBC pads over OEM, IMO.

I love EBC pads, currently I'm running them on everything I own. Low dust compared to stock, superior braking power, great feel, I could keep going on but I think you catch my drift. I haven't had the guys set up the E70 braking section of the site fully yet, so feel free to shoot me a PM and I'll find everything you need for your SAV!

The front pads are on extreme backorder presently. I ordered them just over a month ago and am still waiting.
