X5 was returned on Wednesday and we have driven it 600 miles since. No problems so far but haven't driven through rain yet.
Note on Desert BMW. I put them in a tough spot showing up on a Saturday for an emergency type repair. They got on it right away Monday and even though the first repair failed, put someone back on it Tuesday. So props to Desert BMW for following through and fixing the problem (I hope!) EMF module replaced and reprogrammed. More details if anyone else wants them. BMW on the other hand doesn't deserve kudos. No way that type of failure should occur at only 4000 miles. |
Well strike three. Ran the X5 through the car wash today and the parking brake errors went nuts again. My dealer was only 1 mile away, so I took it in and told them I didn't want it back. They are talking to BMW about replacing it.
2.5 months old and three brake repairs, rough idle at start that they can't figure out yet, tailgate that randomly opens half way, and a creaking drivers set that just returned. Not good. Hope this isn't a pattern for the 2012s (I doubt it) |
lol its probably your brake pad sensors acting up check your pads check your sensors see if plastic or rubber is still attached to sensor ....

My 2007 had a problem where I would set the parking brake at home in the garage and when I returned... it would not release. I had to work my way into the rear and manually release it.
This was a huge problem every few weeks and the dealership loaded up a new version of the software and that someone stopped it from happening again. I never had a problem with lights popping on when the road was wet. |

The only odd thing about that service was they told me my front thrust bushings needed replacement, which I skipped. My local dealer checked them about a year later and said they were fine. |
