They will do it at two years if the CBS hasn't gone off by then. Not a worry. Your fuel consumption is not related to oil service intervals.
On the fuel economy issue, are you measuring from full tank to full tank or relying on the on board computer? |

I just got a call back from the dealership. They told me to schedule the free oil change despite my onboard computer stating I have to wait two years. |
The legal obligation of BMW is to do it when the computer calls for it.
In practice, dealers may do it early for a variety of reasons, generally around the theme of customer relations. They got rid of the published 1 year interval in the US (except for very low mileage vehicles, under 6000) but some dealers will do an interim change. |

I even had one person tell me it's one yr, 15k miles, or whatever came first. But, since I went past one year by several months, it wouldn't be covered anymore! That I had to do it at exactly one year!?!?! |
calling up your dealer about this is a total waste of time, just show up and ask for service, and you will get it.
