Did you guys see this?

‪Mazdaspeed3 (Shitbox) and BMW 335i on Calaveras road‬‏ - YouTube

seen that - I can't believe the bimmer driver thinks that's tailgating... maybe in the middle of nowhere where there are few cars everyday.

Or maybe the 3-series driver just got done arguing with his wife and went out for an enthusiastic drive to blow off some steam...then a, what appeared to be, d-bag kid in a MS3 starts following him at high speeds?

That would piss me off too. I've been minding my own business having fun in my old M3, or even my 4.8, and some ricer tries to follow me or keep up with me. They can keep up in my 4.8 but when I was in my M3 it was just dumb. It's like when they (ricers) see someone driving fast or taking the windy roads with some force, they think it's a race. Why's it always have to be a race? Go back to the boulevard and play stoplight-drag with your buddies.

Sometimes I just want to be alone and not have someone trying to follow me or keep up with me. I don't want to worry about when I slam on my brakes and go from 80 to 20 in a matter of seconds for a hairpin, that the person behind me "trying to have some fun" who may not know the road will rear end me.

I just watched the video. Rather odd popups I see. It starts out "Damn. Someone pulled out right in front of me" and I say who the F cares??!! The Mazda was far enough down the street for the turn to be made.

"Oh wait, its a BMW 335i.... sweet!" And this guy is driving a Mazda?? So is he fixated on BMW models?

"I noticed he's driving somewhat briskly... awesome! Let's dance!"

I think the BMW is kicking it so he can create some distance between the two cars. Granted... the Mazda is keeping a 2 second following distance. But that road had turns and probably animals that can be around any turn. I know I would like some distance between me and a car following me.

The BMW speeds up and tried to get ahead but the Mazda speeds up to and tried to maintain the close following distance.

This is obviously observed by the BMW driver who gets a little ticked off. On that country roadway... I would agree that the Mazda was riding much closer than needed.

Doesn't look like tailgating to me. And getting out of your car to yell at somebody? That's just asking for trouble.

When I think somebody's following me too closely on a road like that, I just keep going then use the next turnout.

Wow, what an @$$. Hopefully shortly after the Mazda pulled away someone approached the 335i driver, lost the brakes, and made him evacuate his $#!^box.

Astounding just how big of a douche some Bimmer drivers are. Awesome jeanshorts too, way to represent...

Not sure I would put too much stock in the cause being the driver's attitude due to his choice of vehicle.

I can tell you from work knowledge.... there are people like this in all makes of cars.

I too have sped up to create distance between me and another car. I think we can all agree that the Mazda closed the distance... on purpose... so he could "dance"?!!

But I would agree that stopping like that is dangerous and approaching unknown people could be hazardous to your health. ha-ha

I'm rarely the car in front. :)

had this happened to me, I'd have been around him before he got out...if I could not see to pass, I'd have been reversing and backing the millisecond his leg came out...back the road, let him run a 1/4 mile before he starts thinking about his car sitting in the road.

I've had weapons pulled on me, so you never know.... that applies to both cars/drivers.

Ya... I would have backed up and away. Create some distance. You are at a disadvantage when a guy gets out like that.

Let that be a lesson to everyone.. even Mazda owners.. ha-ha Do not follow so close to other cars or you put yourself in a bad spot.

You clearly don't know the difference between BMWs and porcupines...

The differences is, is that with BMW's, the pricks are on the inside.
