Yeah, overkill.
All you are really stating is that you have something to sell (or more accurately a cosmetic component of that sale) that is offered in a newer model and rarely seen in your model year X5.
Technically someone could tell you that it is more of a risk statement that you have one of the original makeups of that color and/or seat makeup and is more prone to defect per it being early in it's manufacturing cycle. Mind you that would be really reaching since the material was not new to BMW and the seat construction is not new, but a combination of the new creates a new configuration and therefore defect is possible.
