Question about iPod
 
In my center console, I have the USB port plus the aux jack. I tried plugging in a first generation iPod with the apple white cable. The iPod started to charge, but the nav screen said it wasn't a compatible device. Do I need the two plug adapter or is my iPod just too old?

you need the Y cable.

is there anything better out there (other than the ipod integration kit of course)?

I was able to snag a used OEM cable for $15 off ebay. Definitely cheaper than what the dealership wants.

My dealership had a box of them behind the parts reception desk and handed me a cable - no charge! Guess I am lucky.
