Replacing cracked tail light lens

I was going to save a few bucks and buy one on ebay and then I remember installation costs. If I buy a replacement lens from the dealer will they install it? I am still under warranty.

I would just buy one on Ebay and install it yourself. The dealer will charge you for installation.

Just do it yourself. I had the same thing with our X3 and it was easy to replace. Off the top of me head (for our X3 at least) there were only 3/4 screws to remove. It would have been a five minute job tops but I dropped one of the screws which took me about half an hour to recover. Make sure you've got a decent magnetic screwdriver or one of those extendable magnetic wand things and you'll do fine.

Anyone know the part number for a 2012 passenger side assembly? There aren't many on eBay.

If you enter your VIN on realoem.com, you can get the replacement BMW part number, as well as an approximate cost.

That's a great reference to have - Thanks!

Is it teh inner or outer? The outer assembly is very easy, it will take you about 5 minutes. The inner is more involved so it will take a lot longet to do.
