Potential New E70...thoughts?
 

Hi All,

First post here as I'm strongly considering the purchase of an '07 X5 3.0si with 45K miles for $29.5K. Space Gray with Black interior.
Options include:

• Premium Pkg
• Cold Weather Pkg
• Rear Climate Pkg
• Technology Pkg
• Running Boards
• 3rd Row Seat
• Rear Seat DVD

I think this is a good deal, thoughts? I currently have a Lexus GX470 which has been a great vehicle, but I'm just bored with it now at 85K miles. The Bimmer would be a lot more fun to drive, my only concern is towing my 5000lb boat which I've read several posts on the forum pertaining to the ugly hitch and having to get the vehicle reprogrammed.

Is the 5000 lbs just the boat, or does that include the trailer and everything in it? You are getting up there in weight. The 3.0 will do fine on the flats with the trailer, but if you are going over any long mountain passes you won't win any races.

Hitch is straightforward to install. Reprogramming is nothing complicated, it is just to tell the vehicle that you have the trailer wiring module installed. You will need trailer brakes, either surge brakes or an electric brake controller.
