New member, just ordered 2012 X5d
I am a new member to the forum, new to the X5, but not a stranger to BMW. I currently have an e60 m5, Infinity qx56, and my wife drives a Cooper S turbo 6 speed. I'm trading the m5 for the x5 and we'll likely trade the qx56 for an e36 m3 or something similar. This will be a fun car that I can play with for my son when he turns 16 in a year. I am a BMW and Porsche Club racer currently on leave of absence to focus on raising my children, building my business, and riding motorcycles. Riding motorcycles is so much less demanding than club racing cars! I do have a track bike, but no desire to go wheel to wheel racing with it. Since I no longer have any race cars, I sold my F250PSD and have been using the qx for towing needs. The x5 will take up towing duties from here, for the bikes and probably a car every now and then.
I am actually very excited to join the world of the x5, it is a cool truck and upon reading this forum, it seems like a good group of people. Now that the background info is out of the way, here is my x5 info. I happen to have a close friend who works at BMW of Dallas and got me a great deal on a 2012 build. I am expecting to pick it up mid October. X5 3.5 Diesel Titanium silver (tough decision!) Black nevada leather Sport package with sport seats Aluminum trim 20" wheels Running boards (roof rails STD for 2012) Adaptive drive! Self leveling suspension Premium sound Soft close doors Side cameras Auto hi-beams Premium package iPod, BMW apps, iPhone integration Towing bar installed by dealer The wait is on!! Thanks for reading. Andy |
Congrats Andy. I bought my 335 from BMW of Dallas and will be back to order my X5d next month. Very good experience there and they relocated about a half mile from my house recently. Always a plus.

Congrats on the purchase. Even though I bought my current 4.8 from Beverly Hills BMW, I did buy my '01 X5 there 10 years ago and really like them--take my current 4.8 in there for service.

Thanks guys. It's a great dealer, the service has been top notch. It's pretty close my house too!

Hi Andy - I'm brand new to this forum, and am considering purchasing an X5 35d. Are you able to say what you paid for yours?
|
whizgirl, I just sent you a pm.

Quote:
+Invoice price for base car +Invoice for each option +$875 delivery +$200 Training (maybe +200-350 "MACO", depending on dealer) Minus: - $2500 ECO credit - $1730 Nav Credit (if you order nav or a package with nav) This total (the invoices and costs above, minus the discounts below) is the 'dealer cost' (roughly) and people are closing deals at 500 to 1500 over this number. Lots of posts and threads on this... A |
Thanks ARD! This really helps ... still deciding between new '12 X5 35d and used '11 50i ... decisions decisions!!

Andy - thanks for the pm. Enjoy your new car!

Whizgirl-
Dealers in FLA are a PITA with extra fees.... you might consider cutting a deal with ANY dealer (ie one of the board sponsors!) that is not in FLA and picking up the car in SC. Easy day trip and fun, probably get the deal much closer to the low end A |
