Driver side front tire rubbing on turns

Front driver side tire rubbing. Seems like tire is rubbing on plastic grate on inside of wheel well. Any suggestions? How important is that plastic shield?

Not important at all...just cut it off.

Sheesh.

Car? Tire Size? Wheel/size/mfg/offset? Suspension mods? warranty? Any damage?

X5 35d rubbing

All stock 1500 miles. I ripped off two of the plastic slats. Not sure what you would call them. No more noise. I'm concerned that the tire will spin stuff into the intercooler. I'll stop by dealer next week. Just a little frustrating. It's def a design flaw.

Don't tell them you ripped anything off. This is the first report I've heard of this... don't be surprised if it turns out something got kicked up into the wheel well and damaged your vent panel there..and it is not covered by BMW.

(Do look yourself and see if maybe an assembly error- not installing the proper clips or screws- led to this issue.)

Thanks! I will looks again. I heard the noise almost I immediately when I picked it up. It was doing it in reverse when the wheel was turned all the way. Just took a few days to track it down. There is barely any space in there.
