07 x5 battery

I know nothing of these new bmw's what is needed to change a battery? The guy at the dealer told my gf the computer needs to be reset at the dealer or it will overcharge new battery? Also anyone have any part numbers for a battery without the bmw logo? That will save money?

Thanks a ton

Hello,

I cannot help with a part number but yes, the car SHOULD have the battery adaption performed with diagnostic tool. If you have a BMW GT1 or similar no problem. Cheaper versions of the BMW DIS system or INPA can do the same job for about $15.

Here is a nice little article regarding your topic

Will the bavarian technic tool work? Also which model. Works?

I can only speak from a BMW DIS v57 or INPA perspective, I have not used the bavarian technic tool.
