can OEM 19" runflats be re-mounted?

hi there, sry if this seems like a total noob question.

winter is coming i plan on getting Blizzak LM-25 4X4 from costco (these tires any good?) but i don't need extra rims. so i will just take off the all season runflats and put them away. come spring i will re-mount the runflats. will i run into any issues?

car is 2009 X5 w/ sport 19" rims.

THANK!!!

ps: do tire shops need sepcially equipment to remove/mount runflats? cuz i plan on just getting costco to put on the winter tires.

Yes they can be dismounted/remounted.

Tire shop needs to take care as the tire sidewalls are stiff, and you don't want them or the wheels damaged.

^^ But they should not need any 'special' equipment... if they sell a full range of modern tires they should have what they need.

I dunno what Costco charges these days per wheel, but earlier this year I paid $45 at local tire shop to replace a rft tire on a 17" wheel. So my point is: getting 2nd set of wheel may be a much better long term solution $$-wise.

its $15 per wheel. i dont wanna get spare rims cuz it'd cost around $1700-2000 (4 winter tires will already cost about $1600) and next year i might get the new x3 so extra rims not worth it to me.

in order for extra set of rims to break even it'd take 16 tires changes, so 16 years lol. most ppl on this forum would've changed cars long before that

$15 a wheel? Lemme guess- you don't believe in that fancy-schmancy balancing stuff, right?

You can get talk-off wheels, with tires, for $400 if you shop well.

Not to mention the ease of tossing on the tires when you need it and not spending 2 hours waiting for them to change the tires. Two hours twice a year and I've paid for the wheels in a year.

If it is 16 tires changes (16 x 60 = $960) then it would be 8 years (spring and fall). It would take 32 tire changes for 16 years. I wouldn't want to mount and dismount low profile tires 32 times, it is too hard on the tires.

Aside from that, used rims will be worth similar to what you pay for them, not $0.

Then add in the cost of balancing them twice a year.

And if the tires are on wheels, I can do them at home, inspect the brakes, etc. Dismounting them means I have to go do the swap at a shop, which I have access to, but it is a lot more time.

I bought OE rims from my dealer, one size down from my summers, and sold them privately with my vehicle.
