grr this is confusing, i searched "bmw e70 winter" on ebay and a few results came up and in the ads they all say these rims work on e70 AS WELL AS e53.

if e53 rims dont fit on e70, how can e70 rims fit on e53? ie: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Nice-19-Beyer...ht_1271wt_1276

sighhh

Try Search Tab, on this site...lots of info.
Here is a thread link detailing wheel sizes:

http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...omparison.html

From fading memory, I seem to recall some posters suggesting they did put the bigger bore size E70 wheels on an E53, using hubcentric rings.

As for E53 wheels on an E70, some other posters have had success with a simple machining process to enlarge the E53 wheel hub bore to E70 size.

Ebay is not exactly the encyclopedia of knowledgeable 'informed sellers'.

Adapters to fit E53 wheels to E70 hub

If you don't want to get E53 wheels machined out ( or if local shops refuse to do it for liability reasons ), you can purchase these adapters.

BMW E39 530i M54 3.0l > Wheels > Adapters > ES#1899557 TRAK+ Hub Adapter - 15mm - 3075740725

You may have to talk them about lug bolt length.

IF those are E53 wheels, they will be 72.5mm hub diameter. You should be able to take them to any wheel repair shop, and they can machine the hub centers out to 74.1mm for an E70 hub. I had mine done for ~$40/wheel. The extra 1.6mm isnt going to cause any safety issues.
