E70 3rd row seat vent not working

I have a 2007 X5 with 3rd row seating and the button for the vent between the 2 seats does not work / light up. Anyone have 3rd seating and have I missed something in getting this vent to work?

Appreciate your help.

I just checked mine, it definitely lights up. Is your rear climate settings unlocked in the iDrive?

No such luck. I've unlocked it and not only does it not light up but I am not getting any air from the vents. I tried every combination - Activate Rear setting with and without the AC on.

The fan probably isn't working. My rear climate settings are unlocked, and when I hit the button, it lights up green, and I get air out of the vents. I just noticed you are in Toronto, I'm in Toronto as well.

Yes, a fellow Torontonian! I guess it's going into to the shop. Mind you we use those seats once in a blue moon so I'll try to get an idea of what it will cost first.

BTW, nice looking rides!

Found this little gem while trying to fix the same third row seat blower issue above.

Attachment 79605

Yes it's for an F15 but the system is essentially the same,.

Reading between the lines... slightly fold the right hand third seat forward to expose the control unit, carefully unplug the two plugs from the back of the unit. cycle the ignition, plug the unit back in. If you have an ODB II, reset the associated 9C56 code and restore power to the HVAC climate control.

Press the button and hey presto.

If fault persists, you've likely got a wiring or liquid ingression issue.

All the best.

Nice find, but you do realize the last post in this thread was from 2011 ;)
