hi guys,

been looking a lot on realoem.com for a part # and searching but no luck, maybe someone already change this part and can help..

its a plastic trim that goes on the back of the air filter and goes from side to side, looks like a seal.
thanks

Not sure what part you are asking about. Post the picture again, and point with your finger at the part in question.

Thirdy came up with the same part numbers for your X5 that I did. They are parts 10 and 14 in the below diagram. HERE is a link to a custom cart containing them.

I need these 3 parts (left, center and right), but everywhere I look online they don't have the rubber stripping piece to go along the top edge. Is that a single piece that should run along the top of all 3 parts? I also don't see anything like that in the diagram on realoem page.

Yes. That is a single rubber seal that fits onto the top of all three engine partition pieces. When I replaced my engine compartment pieces I used the original rubber seal which was still in good shape.

Your pictures show that your rubber seal is still in place.

There are actually 5 pieces. Two little pieces on the ends. One of mine was cracked...i replaced both

The rubber seal is part #51237161345 and located in https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=41_1747 as item 21 in the diagram. As has been mentioned, your's doesn't look bad in your pictures but we don't see the whole thing. However your one picture does make it look like the bulkhead plastic piece is broken on the drivers side.

Hope this helps

This is the diver’s side version of the two addition parts that ard mentioned. They get deformed and sometimes broken by the weight of the larger parts hanging on for dear life. They are attached to the larger parts with two plastic rivets.

While you are in there be sure to check to see that the drain is not clogged with debris or a mouse nest -- like mine was.

Be sure you can see the drain and check it by pouring some water in well.

Correct. I revived this 8 year old thread because it matched my issue exactly. I thank 740is for showing me the part number/diagram.

Yeah, yeah... I was just commenting that others were saying YOUR rubber looks OK.

:)

I hate to thread jack can anyone confirm the rubber piece inside the fender highlighted here.

It helps drain the water out. Mines missing and plaguing me with electrical gremlins.
