engine shaking at start up..
Hello all
I have an 07 3.0 with 45k on the clock... When I start the car, the engine shakes for a couple of seconds, my rpm needle moves up and down a little, then return to normal as soon as the shaking goes away...some times x5 its fine, I've been doing a little bit of research, another member posted that his problem was fixed changing the MAF and the transmission mounts, can someone comment on this, if you had the same problem and dealer fixed.. other mentioned that it can be the fuel pump or changing the fuel filter.. also have the CPO but not sure if this can be covered under warranty thanks all |
Mine also does this from time to time. Same engine. Haven't given it much thought, but would like to know more as well.

I guess you're talking about the thread I started.
I thought they changed the MAF sensor, but a few weeks ago when my vehicle went in for the transmission malfuction, I realized they hadn't replaced it. In fact, they hadn't replaced any part whatsoever. The symptom did get somewhat better, but it's still there. Here's my longer thread about it in e90forum. See the video as well. 08' N52 Engine shaking w/ RPM needle moving up and down - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum - E90Post.com |
BTW, has your vehicle ever had the engine serviced, such as replacement of the cylinder head or the tappet?

what was your problem with the transmission? I bought it used, with cpo.. I have the history of the car, only thing I can see is :
positive engagement, delayed, automatic transmission not satisfactory at 26k thiking noise while hot engine is idling at 29k the rest looks normal.. but I do think the way this thing shifts sucks I don't think its normal, do you have a smooth shifting now? |

Having to always turn off the A/C every time I start it up is more annoying honestly. |
I have the same problem, feels like wind moving the car LOL, when start, rpm moves but not very aggressive, but you can feel the car, if you start driving immediately, also you can feel it, but after a couple of seconds goes away and car is perfectly fine .. agree on the a/c too

Mine's still at the dealer. Not yet fixed. Looking at the history of your vehicle, the only record relating to the engine looks to be the 'ticking noise while hot engine is idling'. Did the previous owner ever fix the problem and if so, what had been done? Do you think the engine shaking may have something to do with it? |
