2007 3.0si X5. My Discoveries!

Hi All,

I just changed my X5 2002 to X5 3.0si 2007 model..... I m a little concerned about the following discoveries:

1. I can't find the spare tyre and the car-jack.
2. I keep getting this message "left two stage brake lamp", but d brake lights seems fine
3. Fuel efficiency is pretty poor. Compared with my previous 2002 X5 3.0i
4. Interior rear noise is pretty high and can't trace the source
5. No Temparture gauge on the instrument cluster
6. The tail lights (brake lights) come-on with day light driving... is this normal or a fault?
7. Unable to switch on rear dvd & reverse camera from the iController

I appreciate any insight that can help solve these issues.

TIA
Femi

I answered 1-5 on bimmerfest. To 6, normal behavior if you're using the daytime running lights. To 7, the rear seat dvd is controlled from the second row or the remote control. To the reverse camera, the behavior of the camera, the view and parking distance control is all in iDrive. There is an option to show camera and PDC at the same time.

Well the fuel efficiency is terrible, thats normal, especially since my is the ///M

If the OP hasn't discovered the owner's manual yet, he can read it only by clicking on Online References on this page. That would be a great start.

Thanks for the updates...

1. D car is on run flat tyres... (3 seating rows). Ok
2. I ve looked all over the rear inside and cant find any loose items... guess I ll ve to live with the noise.
3. I had d injectors cleaned... seems a little improvement. I ll have to watch 4some time.
4. The menus on the iDrive for the camera and the rear DVD keeps disabling 1/2 secs after enabling.... yet to reslove.

I ll post a picture of the rear lights of the X5 to be taken later 2nitgt... That way u ll see the lights 1st hand. The light on the boot-side is not on but not sure how to fix a new bulb. (If it uses one)

Regards

Sounds like you blew the bulb on your liftgate. Instructions on how to replace that one are on page 250 of the owner's manual

Here is the picture of the rear as promised.

U can see the circled lights... one is showly out. I cant find replacement procedure in the users manual page 250 or anywhere else... pls direct me.

Also, "Day lights Driving" option should not affect the rear lights coming on with engine switched on. I ve checked other similar X5 models and its not like this. Is there an option I m missing?

Thanks
Femi

That piece is LED. Won't be anywhere was inexpensive as a bulb.

What kind of noice? Wind, squeak, rattle, whistle?
I was once concerned about noice from the back, as if a window was slightly open. Turned out, it was air blowing through the passenger's vent on door pillar.

Fairly common issue, the stealer will charge you an arm and a leg. I bought my replacement from ebay for $90 and replaced myself.

Those are LED lights once gone...its gone.
