give warranty direct a call... I am on them now - haven't had any claims since I have a month left on my factory warranty - but they gave me the best price and are known to follow through well. You can be covered for up to 8 years (from production) on a car from them. You can use them at dealers too.

Thanks tho. Not feeling the green. Mainly looking for a black on black car.
After warranty expires (altho im gonna get extended warranty), is X5 considered expensive to maintain?

purchased a 2008 4.8 CPOed for $39k last week.

it has sports pack 20" wheels, comfort, conv, power tail, front heated, tech pack.

you should be able to get a non-CPO for $35k

Heck, I've was thinking of selling ours to the dealer and they are Ridiculous, as far as what they're willing to give for it. Our 2007 has 43,678 miles and has every option except heated rear seats, rear sunshades, hud, and active steering and they offered $25k for it! This was the same dealer that we bought it from!

Granted, I changed the beat up run flats to 20" Conti DWS tires (1000 percent better tires than RFT's, in my opinion), but the truck is in Excellent shape! Needless to say, I was insulted at first and then Really Ticked and then realized that it's not personal, just business!

They said not to go by the KBB, Edmunds, etc because they don't take into account what they can get a car for at the auctions. I think that it's just another excuse for them to try to stick it to the consumer, since we can't go to the auctions and don't know if they're telling the truth or not about auction pricing.

Sorry for the hijack and now back to our regularly scheduled program!

Wow, for a car like that, it'd sell in an instant in a private party sale.

Been looking for an X5 around here in Orange County/CA, and there's nothing priced that low.

I need to find someone who has a dealer's license so I can go to auctions.

Josh,

I am a little late to this party, but a buddy of mine bought a Space Grey CPO 2008 4.8i sport package, fairly nicely equipped with Y-spokes, running boards, etc. from Global Imports about 8 months ago for under 40k. Want to say it had around 45k miles, but not positive. There is a handfull of them on Autotrader right now within 50 miles of Marietta between about $35,000-$40,000.
