Letter from BMW... DTML Pump?

Hi,

Has anyone received a letter from BMW concerning a warranty extension of the DTML (Vapor Diagnostic) pump on your 2007-8 E70 to 10/120k

I just had mine replaced a couple of months ago ($480) and have not received a letter to date, but as I'm the second owner, maybe I won't.

Thanks in advance.

yup got it a few days ago... it came with a change of address card and it also points to http://www.bmwusa.com/mybmw so create an account there and perhaps you'll get future notifications.

Says talk to your BMW center for reimbursement if you've already done it at your own expense.

Fired off an E-Mail to BMW this morning.

I spoke to the BMW Customer Realtions folks yeterday, and they told me it didn't apply to my X5... Of course they couldn't give me any details as to why not. Sounded like they just wanted me to go away.

I fired off an email to them today with a copy of the letter and several details about my specific case this morning.

I also asked them if they can identify the specific lot codes for the pumps, and if so can they tell me what WAS in my X5, and what is in in it now after the repair.

I'll keep this updated.

Thanks.

^ right, the letter doesn't state anything other than "certain model years 2007 and 2008 X5 SAVs". It has my VIN up top but no other specifics about which qualify. Good luck.

I believe it does say that it is applies to the car and subsequent owners.
