Basic question on X5 display
 

I have owned my 2008 X5 for 1 year and read the manual (I think)


Still haven’t been able to get answer to a question. So I am going to use my flash card for asking basic / stupid question here.


There are rows of information on dash right in front of the steering. Just below where it show D R N
- First rows shows remaining miles OR mph OR something else
- Second row shows odometer mileage and trip mileage

Is there a way to configure what shows in these two rows. If so, how

I believe only through recoding the vehicle.

There's a button on the end of one the stalks on the left side of the steering column. Press that to cycle through the available info.

Where do I get said flash cards to "ask stupid Q's/Get out of Jail free"? :p

Thanks. That worked. It changes the top row. I also found it on the page 73 of the owners manual (after I knew the answer). I guess there is no way to configure bottom row.


You get one per year before you get banned from here (just kidding). And you have used it to ask your question :D

No you can't configure the total mileage display. You can only reset the other number to the right (trip odometer) with the button on the glass.
