Paddle Shifters on non ///M
I've searched and found the 100 threads on not getting paddle shifters to work on a non-M E70 when installing a new steering wheel. So, yes I did look...
Can someone who has access to a 2010+ M Electrical Manual pull the schematics, also for any module (255?) that may be needed, and send them to me? Thanks in advance. |
Bump
I am also interested in this mod. I currently have an X5M wheel with paddles that dont work :( The 2012 X5 with sport pack now comes with paddles as an option...so there must be a way to get these to work on our E70's |
Yeah, just not available on the 35d :-(
Shouldnt be long until someone figures it out, |
With everyone with a M wheel in a non-M, what happens to the M button on the wheel? Nonfunctional, or another function replaces it?
|
The M button does the same as the respective button on the wheel installed before. In fact, all buttons regardless of their symbol do the very same as before.
|
Anyone have access to a service manual for an ///M or #70 with Paddle shifters? Need to start the research process.
Thanks. |
Anyone, anyone?
Bueller? |

Let's bump this thread again...Any help would be appreciated !

There are two ways to do this.
1) Replace the clock spring in the steering column so that the inputs from the paddles would be meaningful to the car's ECU. Then some coding/reprogramming would be in order to make the car think it's an M. 2) Run custom wiring from the paddles through the column and back to the shifter in the center console. There you could theoretically tap into the wiring for shift +/- as a parallel wiring job using some vampire taps. Option 2 would be the most straightforward and least expensive. |
